COPACABANA AUDITIONS Wednesday, January 29th from 4-6pm and Thursday, January 30th from 6-8pm in the BFAC.
SENIOR WINTER SPORTS POSTERS Senior winter sports posters are available in the office. Please stop in and pick one up! Anything left will be recycled at the end of the month.
FCCLA Scholarship for Seniors Seniors who are in FCCLA can apply for Nebraska FCCLA Scholarships! They award significant ($1,000!) scholarships for members who are interested in future careers in FCS education and in non-FCS education fields. Examples of FCS careers are nursing, nutrition, physical therapy, tailoring, and many more. Ask Ms. Manning if you are unsure if your future career falls within the FCS field and are interested in applying. Scholarship applications can be found here: http://www.nebraskafccla.org/awards/individual/ and are due to Suzanne Martin, Board of Directors Chair at firstname.lastname@example.org by February 1st. Do not send these to the Nebraska FCCLA State Office.

8th Grader/Parent Meeting All 8th graders as well as their parents are invited to attend an informational meeting on 2/5 at 5:30 pm in the BFAC. Items to be discussed are: Graduation requirements, registering for high school classes, 4-year plans, college plans, and other important information. Plan to attend, both parent and student.
Part-time Job Opportunity for Anyone 18 years of age or going to be soon! If you are 18 years of age, or will be shortly, and looking for a part-time job that pays $17.50/hr, consider applying to be a census taker. They will also pay $.58 a mile. You have to be able to drive and have an internet-connected computer. You will cover anywhere in Jefferson County. If you are interested, go to 2020census.gov/jobs to learn more and apply.
Junior UNK Preview Day UNK is hosting a junior preview day on either 2/10 or 3/9 for anyone interested in visiting. Register at unk.edu/lpd
BASEBALL FAIRBURY YOUTH BASEBALL: All 7th and 8th grade boys should receive a summer baseball registration form from either Mr. Liebel or Mrs. Engle-Evans in social studies class. If not, forms for any boy 15 years old or younger on December 31, 2019 are available from Mr. Martin in Room 131. Deadline for registration is Friday, February 14. Direct any questions to Mr. Martin.

LEGION BASEBALL MEETING If you are planning on playing summer legion baseball,please attend the mandatory parent/player meeting on Sunday, January 26th at 6pm in the high school commons.
DATE AND LOCATION CHANGES The date for Copa has changed to Saturday March 21st same times at the high school. The District Spelling Bee will also be held on Saturday March 21st but has been moved to the '47 gym. Please make note of these changes.
SWEETHEART DANCE The Sweetheart Dance is on February 13th from 9 to 11 p.m. at the Elks Lodge. Tickets are $5 when bought at school and $10 at the door, for 9th - 12th graders.
TRAP The 2020 organizational meeting of the Fairbury Jr. Sr. High Trap teams will be held Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Fairbury Gun Club located at the Fairbury Airport. This meeting is for parents and youth who are interested in joining the Trap Team. All students 6th - 12th grade may participate. If you cannot attend Sunday, or would like more information, contact Mike Holes at 402-587-0264 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
TAILGATE This Friday, January 24th from 5-7:30pm the Rotary Club will have their tailgate supper. All proceeds support local and area youth.
FCCLA MEETING The next FCCLA meeting is Tuesday, January 28th at 7:50am. FCCLA members please make sure to put this on their calendar!
